Digital skills at work
As technology advances, most jobs are beginning to need some level of digital skill.
Technology is also creating lots of exciting new jobs. These jobs will need workers with the confidence to:
use the internet on a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or PC
communicate online using email and social media
work from home or a remote location. For example, using online tools like Zoom, Skype, Teams and Facetime to communicate
create online accounts to access information
search for reliable information online
behave safely and legally online
Digital badges are used to recognize and reward the achievements of individuals and illustrate their growth. They are commonly used in the education sector, by massive open online courses (MOOCs), and online certification providers across various types of assessments.

Using a range of information from various sources and feedback from employers and educators, I have developed a range of sessions that individuals can learn and gain some digital skills. Below is a list of the skills;
digital foundation skills
communicating-collaboration and sharing
handling information and content
transacting online

Session 1 - To Do
In the box entitled to do, this is the content that all students will need to be able to demonstrate they can comfortably manage by the end of the session. After which they will complete the quick quiz to establish a record of knowledge and the facilitator/tutor will observe and record the students completing the 'To-Do' list as evidence of achievement, and record the sessions achievements on their log of progress. Each student will gain 'Milestone' digital badges as they progress through the skills of each session.
Session 1 - Evidence
In the box entitled evidence this is the content that the facilitator/tutor will observe and record on a tracking report that the student has successfully completed the tasks for the session.
The student will have completed the tasks and also the quick quiz on session 1, this will all be recorded and tracked in readiness for 'Milestone' digital badges to be awarded.

Sessions 1-6 are all similar in format with a 'To-Do' section for the student and an evidence section for the facilitator/tutor. All have a quick quiz section to demonstrate the skills developed as milestones for each session or you may choose to have just one digital badge upon completion of the 6 sessions.
